KEY QUALIFICATIONS
40 years experience in coastal oceanology, hydraulic, mathematical modeling and computer programming. The author of a book and 122 articles. Has been involved in many projects. In 1994-1996 worked as a hydraulic and environmental expert for Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners Ltd. (UK) on the feasibility study for the completion of St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier.
In 1996-1997 participated in the Russian-Netherlands project ‘Integrated Water Management for St.Petersburg Region’. In 1997 was invited to Cyprus as expert of UNEP to model the Cyprus coastal water dynamics and transport of biogens related with proposed development of aquaculture in the Akrotiri Bay. In 1998- 2000 played a key role in the development of Automated Flood Protection System for St.Petersburg in the frames of two Netherlands –Russian projects.
In 2002 participated in international project concerning estimation of environmental impact of completion of St.Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier (consortium NEDECO). In 2002-2004 was a group leader in Netherlands –Russian project ‘Improved wind forcing in sea-state models in coastal zone’. In 2005 – professor at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (RSHMU). Since 2003 – member of State Sertification Commission at RSHMU.
